December 2016 Newsletter

November passed with a total of 352 Bibles being placed into the hands of correctional officers in twelve different states! Thank you for your investment in the lives of men and women who put their lives on the line, every time they go on duty. In a realm where little or no encouragement of any kind is received, it makes a difference.

God continues to use corrections officers to get the Word out to other officers in their facilities. Please pray for one such man in Pennsylvania who recently left corrections work as a part of his surrender to God’s call to preach. In his new role, he has remembered his brothers and sisters still serving in the prison where he spent so many years. He has a supply of the Corrections Officer Bibles and clearance to enter the facility to minister to officers!

The Pastor in Mississippi that we mentioned last month found the receptiveness to God’s Word among officers to be overwhelming. More Bibles have been sent his way to distribute to those officers who are searching for answers and in desperate need of hope and direction to face the scenes they view daily.

Thank you for your prayers about Oregon! While we are still waiting for God to open the door in one particular facility where a Chaplain is helping us, He put us in touch with a retired officer from another Oregon facility! Please pray for this man as he uses his time to minister the Gospel of grace to those still serving behind the wall.

Please pray for a bi-vocational Pastor friend of ours who is now working as a corrections officer in Wisconsin. The added strains on his family are immense, particularly during this season as they adjust to corrections life.

Corrections officers are grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers. They are men and women who think and feel deeply. You would be amazed what the smallest of gestures can mean. Don’t be afraid to do something to reach out to corrections officers. We would be glad to help in any way we can.

God continues to keep us in awe of His power to provide exactly what is needed at just the right time. Your faithful support means so much. Thank you!
