Officer Testimonials

“Today I received my free bible and I was so excited when it arrived. I am a corrections officer and although I love what I do, it brings comfort to know that there are people who pray for us and appreciate what we do 24/7. Every day I enter the compound I say a prayer for fellow brothers, my sisters, and myself and for the inmates as well. God has answered my prayers. I came upon HEIRS of RESTRAINT by searching bibles for corrections officers in hopes that I would get lucky and find something on the internet. I feel more than blessed to have a bible that points out certain scriptures relevant to a correction officer day to day struggles. I pray that these bibles and this ministry can touch the hearts of those officers in need before they reach their breaking point.

Thank you for the gift and encouragement”

“I want to say thankyou to everyone in this ministry as an Officer I have struggled so bad I mine I wasn’t the only C/O that struggled but some days it felt that way. So thank everyone especially Marvin. I have been able to reach out to other officers in their spiritual needs and you guys have given me the encouragement needed God Bless.”

“It’s difficult to put into words how thankful I am for the hard work and thoughtfulness that has been put into this website, as a correctional officer I have experienced many things within those walls that I never thought I would have ever gone through and its really encouraging to know that not everyone has forgotten about us.”

“Thank you for caring for us!!!!”

“Thank you greatly.  It has been such an adjustment working in a prison. The things that you experience here, on the inside are very difficult to separate from when you leave the camp, even though it is required that you do so. It is so difficult to live each moment as if danger can arise, and this is a concept that I just had never experienced until working here. It is so difficult to turn that anxiety off when you leave and enter back into the “real world”. Thank you for trying to reach into this world and aid those that try so hard to make a difference in our community. Before I started here, I was so niave. I didn’t understand at all the dynamics of prison life, or the impact it has on all the staff that work with this violent section of our society.”

“It’s really nice to know that someone cares about the men and women in our profession. THANK YOU!!”

“I would like to say thank you for this site and everyone involved. You have created something that was never available before, a place where we can all come together in one location and share our struggles and triumphs as we go into battle daily, whether it be spiritual, personal, or doing our job, you are there for us and it is not taken lightly. Thank you all!”

“Thank you. It’s so nice to be thought of.”

“When will the devotional manual be done? I’m looking forward to it. I don’t really tell people where I work or talk about it. No matter how many times we do the things we have to do it still affects you, even if you think it won’t.”

“Thank you. No one ever thinks of us.”

“Thank you. No one really knows what we go through in here.”

“Thank you for putting this all together. We need this. When will the manual be done?”
